Basic Gravy

That’s right! You read that correct. A gravy! With this recipe you can take it however far you want. I used this to make a sausage gravy for my “biscuit” I have also used this for a mushroom gravy for my hamburger steak and my chicken. I have also used this as a base for my chicken spaghetti and turned my gravy into a cream of mushroom/celery. There really is no end to what you can do with this basic gravy recipe.

What you need… 

  • 1 cup frozen cauliflower
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth
  • 3/4 cup almond milk
  • 1/2 TBSP light butter
  • 4tsp almond flour
  • A pinch of garlic
  • A pinch of sea salt
  • A pinch of pepper

How to make it…

  1. In a medium size pan heat the 1/4 cup almond milk, butter and almond flour, garlic, salt, and pepper then let it get to a boil then set it to simmer (about 5min) stir the gravy on and off.
  2. While you wait on that to boil let’s cook the cauliflower
  3. Place the cauliflower in a microwaveable bowl and cook for about 3 min.
  4. Once that’s done place that and the chicken broth in the blender and purée it.
  5. Once the liquid is thickened

Add the purée and 1/2 cup almond milk to to the gravy and simmer for a little bit long until you reach the desired thickness.

This serves 3

Each serving is 1/3 cup

Each serving is 1/3 of your green and 1.33 condiments.
